Artists Call Out
who plan on being a part of the No Borders Camp on the Calexico-Mexicali border from Nov. 5-11. The week will include actions against capitalism and for mutual aid, against detention centers and for freedom of movement and against the wall and for a world without borders. It is not only the first No Borders Camp in North America, but it is the first to take place on both sides of an international border. We visualize the actions being filled with creativity and artistic expression. We need banners, puppets, murals, theater acts, dance, music and whatever other related creativity you have to offer. The artistic aspect will make all the difference throughout this week so we strongly encourage everyone's participation. Please be planning in advance to bring such expressions to the camp. There will be a space at the convergence center where projects can be worked on as well. The use of flags and other representation of ideology that separates you from others is discouraged. Other than that the sky it the limit. Be creative, collaborate with others and have fun! Also, it would be helpful to bring materials to share/donate to the space for others to use.
