From the city of Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico, we demand justice for those who were brutally assaulted, who were robbed of their liberty, and who were denied the medical attention they needed after being injured by American law enforcement on Sunday, November 11, on the Calexico/Mexicali border, during a peaceful demonstration AGAINST ALL BORDERS!
We demonstrate solidarity with our comrades on the Other Side (U.S.) who were targets of a premeditated attack while at a severe disadvantage (proof is evident in photos and video taken at the time) by members of the Border Patrol.
After the conclusion of the NO BORDERS CAMP's planned Sunday activities and following days of "relative" tranquility on the part of la migra, a consensus was reached to march against the wall of shame, on both sides of the borders, demonstrating unity and the symbolic collapse of the all borders that provoke destruction, suffering and death throughout the world.
We are saddened that the attack occurred after a week of activities and community developed in a cemetery- a place that knows only death, illness and the absurdities of the global order. This cemetery was transformed into a space for autonomy, for fighting the effects of those barriers which, though internal, reflect the despicable monuments that are built day by day at great cost to us all, built to make us into decadent, money-making robots. This space was one of solidarity and, even if only for a moment, was free of authoritarianism and also of the very thing around which we converged: the Border.
The protest on the Mexicali side began as a mixture of chants, dancing, music, strength, enthusiasm, heat and fatigue, with a few police patrolling the street, and ended with the intermittent blockading of the lines of cars (whose drivers were largely supportive) waiting to cross into the U.S., through "die-ins" representing the many whose hopeful journey ended in such tragic death across the border. The demonstration on the Other Side of the fence had a similar feel up until the moment that the police and Border Patrol so atrociously, barbarically, and inhumanely attacked our comrades. We see this in the images of an officer smiling and laughing without the tiniest bit of remorse.
We offer full solidarity with future actions and call for demonstrations outside of U.S. consulates, against the repression of the freedom to resist and build alternatives!!

You slept in the dirt for a week, kept a blog and posted on youtube. You got the confrontation you were looking for. At the end of the week you have changed nothing, awakened no mass worldwide protest. Nice try but the sixties are gone better luck next year.
SOCIAL JUSTICE
What - have you ever camped out? Dont you sleep "on the dirt" sleeping bags were used...and its not the 60's it the year 2007 almost 2008 and I applaud these people for doing something that concerns SOCIAL JUSTICE .... and it wont be next year, the fight for social justice continues daily.....today's youth and others will not give up that easily....and fortunately for today's youth they are able to keep a laptop and let the world know that the UNITED STATES BORDER PATROL acted WRONGLY.....can we say social injustice?
